PAL

A partir del tercer cuatrimestre 2019, los usuarios de las plataformas de gestión de aprendizaje de la Uned, utilizarán la versión 3.7.1+ de Moodle, la cual tendrá nuevas características que le permitirán trabajar en los entornos virtuales con mayor eficiencia y seguridad.

Algunas de las nuevas características son:

Para todos los usuarios

• Foro: enviar participaciones a un usuario en privado.
• Cuestionario: borrar la opción seleccionada.
• Lección: añadir videos e imágenes a un ensayo
• Libro: nuevas opciones para la impresión
• Competencias y planes de aprendizaje.
• Notificaciones push (instantáneas) con la aplicación Moodle Mobile

Para los profesores

• Foro: destacar una participación (marcar con estrella) para priorizar las participaciones. Además, podrán poner fecha de bloqueo de participaciones, permitiendo que los estudiantes puedan seguir visualizando el foro, pero no así participar.
• Campos personalizados en editar ajustes de los cursos/asignaturas, mismos que serán visualizados, si el profesor los activa, por los estudiantes al ingresar a la plataforma: fecha de inicio, horas de dedicación al estudio de los contenidos y observaciones.
• Libro: ver capítulos ocultos.
• Tarea: rotar de forma vertical u horizontal los archivos de PDF enviados por los estudiantes para una mejor visualización.
• Lección: incluir diferentes recursos al calificar ensayos.

Recordemos que todas estas acciones forman parte de un proceso de mejora continua que permite mantener a la Universidad a la vanguardia en el uso de este sistema y así fortalecer la educación virtual.

Cabe destacar que todo lo anterior se logra gracias al esfuerzo y trabajo de los funcionarios del Programa de Aprendizaje en Línea (PAL) y la Dirección de Tecnología de Información y Comunicaciones (DTIC) de la UNED.

La nueva actualización está disponible desde el 28 de agosto 2019.

New features in Moodle 3.7.1

From the third term of 2019, users of the learning management systems at UNED will use Moodle version 3.7.1+, which has new features that allow students and professors to work in virtual environments with greater efficiency and security.

Some of these new features are:

To all users

• Forum: send a message or reply to a user in private
• Quiz: delete the selected option
• Lesson: add videos and images to an essay
• Book: new options for printing
• Skills and learning plans
• Push notifications (snapshots) with the Moodle Mobile application

For professors

• Forum: highlight a participation (“star” icon) to prioritize it. In addition, it is possible to set a date for blocking entries; students may continue to view the forum, but not to participate.
• Customized fields (in Edit settings): if the professor activates them, they will be displayed to students when entering the platform; these three customized fields are: start date, hours of dedication to the study of the contents, and observations.
• Book: access hidden chapters.
• Homework: rotate PDF files sent by students vertically or horizontally for better viewing.
• Lesson: it is possible to include resources of different formats when qualifying essays.

All these actions are part of a process of continuous improvement that allows the University to remain at the forefront in the use of this system and thus strengthen virtual education.

It should be noted that all of the above is achieved thanks to the effort and work of the staff of the Online Learning Program (PAL, by its acronym in Spanish) and the Directorate of Information Technology and Communications (DTIC) of UNED.

The new update has been available since August 28^th, 2019.
