“Education and Technology:
an Opportunity to Promote Development"
November 6th and 7th, 2013
The purpose of the XVI EDUTEC Conference 2013 is to open up spaces for analysis and discussion in order to disseminate, reflect and consider proposals that foster the integration of new information and communication technologies (ICT) in the education process. The aim is to foster the development and quality of people’s lives in the different environments they perform; as well as to create good innovative practices that contribute to the improvement of each learning environment through technological resources.
EDUTEC Costa Rica 2013 has been possible thanks to the alliance between EDUTEC, association for the development of educational technology and the new technologies applied to education, and Universidad Estatal a Distancia (UNED), an institution with 35 years of experience in the use of avant-garde technologies to offer public higher education that specializes in distance learning.
Since its inception, UNED has been marked by its contribution to education and culture, as well as by the democratization and universalization of education by creating opportunities for professional growth to different sectors of the population. In recognition of its long track record, UNED was declared a meritorious institution of Education and Culture in October 2007 by the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica.
UNED’s educational model is based on self-instruction. To support this process it makes use of ICTs as mediation instruments. In order to make a pedagogical and professional use of the resources and materials, the Direction of Production of Instructional Materials (DPMD, by its initials in Spanish) specializes on the production of audiovisuals, video-conference, written materials, multimedia and platforms for online course management.
As the host of such important event, UNED is pleased to welcome you to the XVI EDUTEC Conference 2013, Education and Technology: An opportunity to foster development.
